Ani Raya Flores
What is your Hometown?
What do you like to do on your days off?
On days off, you can find me running through the San Gabriel Mountains or walking slowly down York Blvd with my basset hound.
As a trail runner and endurance athlete, Ani first came to yoga in search of increased flexibility and a stronger core. While she noticed the physical results immediately, it was the unexpected mental and emotional benefits that kept her coming back to the mat. She credits the yoga practice with giving her the clarity of mind, physical and emotional balance necessary to conquer the steepest of climbs, on and off the trails.
With a background in childcare and literature, Ani believes a great yoga class has all the elements of a great bedtime story: a knowledgable guide, a challenging yet playful journey and ultimately, a resting pose.
"The students of this community inspire me to grow as a teacher, and the teachers inspire me to grow as a student. Keep being your inspiring selves, you guys- I'll keep trying to rise to the occasion :)" - Ani

Ani Raya-Flores instructs the following classes:
A steady practice with focus on proper alignment and intermittent holding of poses to engage, feel, and move deeper into various asanas. Suitable for, and potentially challenging for all levels, this practice can be taken as easily or deeply as one's body demands on any given day. Practice begins with a warm up, intensifies during the middle portion flow and winds down at the end to lead the practitioner into a state of profound awareness in the final resting pose, savasana.
Mixed Level Flow
Linking breath, body and movement, the class will leave you feeling open, strong, and refreshed. Modifications are given allowing the students to choose a more beginning or more advanced practice according to their needs.
